Apr2006 Recital Students with Paul

This recital presented a marvelous opportunity to preview some exceptional young talent and provides necessary experience for the students themselves. All of the performers possess a strong interest in the pursuit of music.

Performing were Theo Gritz, Staphany Lu, Mark Micchelli, Moira Newman, Theo Rapanu (not pictured), Keely Schmerber (not pictured), and Jonathan Wei.

This year’s recital also featured a special appearance
by Alex Tuchman (not pictured), who recently
received the Most Distinguished Artist award at the
Ibla International Piano Competition in Raguza, Sicily
this past June. Tuchman’s appearance follows his first
performance at Carnegie Hall in New York City on
April 19, 2006. Alex, just 13 years of age, won the
Ibla Competition
under the tutelage of Paul Zeigler
and is currently studying at the Mannes School of Music
in New York City. He will perform Bartok’s Eight
Improvisations on Hungarian Folk Dances.
